Couponing 101

Instead of trying to explain all the tips on how to start couponing, I recommend visiting the blogs listed below.

One piece of advice I do have it to pick one store to start with and then move on to another store once you have a handle of the first stores policies.  Each store has a different coupon policy and it can be very confusing trying to learn it all.  I started with Giant Eagle which has a pretty simple policy to learn.

Also, do not feel that you have to take advantage of every coupon deal available.  It takes a while to learn when the products are at the lowest point (I'm still learning this) and it is easy to buy products that you don't need. :-)

And lastly, I get all my coupons from the newspaper and printing them from online.  I read somewhere that the recommendation is to get one newspaper for every member in your family and that seems like that works well for me.  Beware of printing coupons online - there are a lot of fraudulent coupons out there.  Generally I only print from trusted sites (like coupons.com) or from the manufacturer's website.
